Tyrant

I can't decide what I think of the new FX show Tyrant. The plot was initially intriguing, but has grown fairly dull over the course of the middle episodes. I hope it really picks up and turns into a great show because it certainly has the potential to do so.

The acting is mediocre from everyone with the exception of the all of the Al-Fayids, which really puts a damper on the show. 

However, the relevance of the show in the current geopolitical climate keeps things interesting. Ideally, the show would advance the discourse on the situation in the Middle East meaningfully without being too Newsroom-ish about it. 

In other news, why does every show insist on taking shots like they are in the O.C., Gossip Girl, or the the Kardashian family Christmas card?
